Early experimental singles released during the dark period of John's decline in mid-2023, reflect his devolving mind, clawing his way out of isolation through music, showcasing influences like Moodring, Godflesh, & Deftones.
Shortly after John graduated from University with a degree in Music Composition, he began rebuilding his life and released selected refined songs that showcased a much more industrial sound, marking a notable shift in his previous discography, under the name SONNY DAI (Feb 2024).
This is the time when Calvin joined, transforming SONNY DAI into a full-fledged band. The music on the EP was quickly created as filler to establish a live setlist, showcasing an updated discography.
The band's second full EP, part of their 2025 discography, was released after signing with Extreme Management Group (Suffocation/Cryptopsy). Originally launched in February 2025, this EP was pulled by the distributor and later rereleased in the summer of the same year, showcasing their dedication to music and featuring tracks like ¡EURIKA! & DEFENSIVE.
In the last five months, SONNY DAI has released 5 singles, showcasing their evolving identity, though the first single was ultimately pulled by Spotify. This journey highlights the dynamic nature of their turbulent, often catharsis driven music.
Most (if not all songs from this time period are no longer available on streaming, which is a notable aspect of SONNY DAI's current discography: Bohemian Grove (first version), A Step Past Empty (deleted), Disappear So Loud (deleted), and Nothing New (lyrical basis for later metal music).
All but one song from this period in SONNY DAI's current discography have been deleted. The remaining song is only available on select YouTube videos.
